Student Requirements

  • Must have a current driver’s license in good standing and issued in the State of Texas
  • Must have the fundamental skills to read, write, and speak English as per F.M.C.S.R.
  • Must have legal authorization to be employed in the United States
  • Must be able to provide the DPS with the necessary documents required to obtain a Class A permit and license (including, but not limited to, original birth certificate and social security card)
  • Pass and obtain a DOT medical physical exam: All commercial drivers are required to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) medical physical exam. Therefore, applicants must be able to pass this exam before starting the program.
  • Complete an interview with an admissions counselor: We believe that a personal interview is the best way to determine whether our program is the right fit for you. During this interview, we'll discuss your goals, expectations, and any concerns you may have about the program.

How to qualify for job placement assistance

At our school, we believe in second chances and we're committed to working with you every step of the way. While we cannot guarantee job placement, we'll provide you with the training and resources you need to succeed in your career.

 

  • No record of failure or refusal of employer required drug and alcohol screenings
  • Must be able to obtain DOT Medical Certificate with an expiration no less than one year from the date of issuance
  • No DUI convictions in the past years or more than two DUIs in a lifetime
  • No at-fault accidents, careless driving charges, or more than 3 traffic convictions within the last 3 years, no reckless driving charges within 5 years
  • No drug-related misdemeanors or any felony convictions within the last 3 years
